Tom Reinerth began ski racing at an early age qualifying for the US Junior Nationals at the age of 16. Excellent finishes in these Junior National Championships races resulted in his being selected for the University of Utah Ski Team. After collegiate racing Tom spent over a decade in competition on the Professional Ski Racing Circuits.
During his competitive career Tom also worked as a ski tech for Sunset Sports mounting and tuning hundreds of pairs each season. After this, Tom owned and operated his own chain of ski shops called the Extreme Edge Ski and Snowboard Service Centers located in Salt Lake City Utah.
Tom was hired by Salomon Ski Company and provided competition service for US Ski Team and other World Cup Racers on Salomon Skis, Boots and Bindings and for the racing community at large for 10 seasons.
Tom has World Cup, National Championship and Olympic service experience and has performed personal ski service for premier athletes such as Luc Alphand, Jean Luc Cretier, Franc Piccard, Rob Boyd, Felix Belczyk, Tommy Moe and Errol Kerr among others.
Along with Dr. Thanos Karydas Tom started the DOMINATOR Wax Company and for the past decade and a half the association of experience and knowledge has firmly marked DOMINATOR as the industry leader in technological advancements of ski and snowboard waxes.
Tom brings this experience to the USSA Masters Ski Racing community by being a continuing sponsor of the Intermountain Masters Racing Circuit. Tom attends several Master races in Utah providing waxing service for racers attending in these events. Master's racers can have their skis waxed, at no cost, at selected events throughout the season.
Look for Tom at Masters races and associated functions, he is always open to discussions pertaining to ski wax selection, wax application and the advancements in the art of ski maintenance.
Meet Intermountain Masters very own Orthopedic Surgeon.
Dr Phil Davidson
Intermountain Masters is fortunate to have one of the best orthopedic surgeons stepping up and supporting us as one of our VIP sponsors. Dr Davidson relocated to Utah after practicing orthopedics for 15 years in Florida. He is pleased to work with Dr. Eric and Dr. Karen Heiden at Heiden Davidson Orthopedics with offices in both Park City and Salt Lake City. Dr. Davidson is renowned for his expertise in Cartilage Restoration and Joint Resurfacing of the knee and shoulder. For more than a decade, he has been recognized among the nation's foremost orthopedists in treating articular disorders. His particular area of clinical interest and expertise is in the field of biological and anatomic joint resurfacing. Many patients come to Dr. Davidson to explore alternatives to total knee replacement. His practice encompasses treatment of all shoulder and knee disorders, with a particular emphasis in sports medicine.
Dr. Phil Davidson has been providing orthopedic care to many of the Intermountain Masters skiers and coaches since 2008. After some friendly coercion by Amy Lanzel, Richard Uranker, Don Cofer and others he began to ski and train with the group during the season of 2010. He did his first-ever GS race in 2011, successfully finishing the course. A couple times a month he trains in with the group and is thrilled to be learning a lot and very much enjoying the company of the Masters skiers and coaches.
Testimonial: 3 years ago I brought my young dauighter to three different surgeons to fix a bone defect in her knee. After two unsucessful surgeries, and one disappointing consult, we were looking at poor odds. Lucky for us we met Dr Phil Davidson. He recommended a new treatment and a clinical approach that made much more sense to us. Caitlin is now back skiing and never complains of knee pain. Dr Davidson is my hero, and my daughter thinks so too!
